Itinerary
Tour Description
An 8 day Kenyan safari for the discerning traveller, with a night to relax at the Tribe Hotel before setting off to visit three of Kenya’s most prolific wildlife reserves, Amboseli National Park, Samburu Reserve and the Maasai Mara Reserve.
As befits the name, our Kenya Exclusive Camp Safari offers tented accommodation in small exclusive camps – Porini Amboseli Camp, Sasaab and Porini Mara Camp, for a more personal safari experience.
The Porini camps are small eco-camps in exclusive wildlife conservancies while Sasaab is a small luxury camp in a conservancy next to Samburu Reserve.
The initial outward journey to Porini Amboseli Camp located in the Selenkay Conservancy is by road – 5 hours from Nairobi, with an option to upgrade to a short flight while the remaining journeys between parks and safari camps are by light aircraft to avoid lengthy journeys on rough roads and to give you a bird’s eye view of Kenya’s stunning countryside.
There is also an opportunity to experience a Balloon Safari with champagne breakfast in the Mara.
Accommodation
Porini Amboseli Camp
This award-winning Kenya safari camp is set in the Amboseli eco-system within the exclusive Selenkay Conservancy– an important wildlife dispersal area for wildlife moving out of Amboseli National Park. The private conservation area ensures the best possible game viewing in proper off-road safari vehicles, off the beaten track and away from other tourist vans and minibuses.
Sasaab Camp
Sasaab Camp is a new property located near Samburu, a unique destination watered by the precious rain and snows melting down the lush slopes of Mount Kenya, into this semi-desert of Kenyan northerly frontier district. Sasaab is on Samburu community land, within the Ngutuk Ongiron Group Ranch also known as the West Gate Conservancy. Guests fly for just over an hour from Nairobi into Buffalo Springs – although the option of long drive from Nairobi is also scenic and crosses the Equator.
Porini Mara Camp
Porini Mara Camp has six guest tents sited in the shade of Yellow-barked Acacia trees along the banks of the Laetoli, a permanent spring within Ol Kinyei. The tents are spacious and each has an en-suite bathroom with flush toilet and safari shower. With no more than 12 guests in camp one gets the experience of real safari camping in the bush in an exclusive private wilderness but with all the comforts required by discerning travellers. Food is excellent with home baked bread, fresh salads and high quality meals prepared by the camp Chef.
