On this 5 night (6 day) safari you start off in the unique Nairobi National Park and then the safari continues to the famous Maasai Mara National Reserve with stays at small safari camps in different areas of the Mara and game drives in 3 exclusive Wildlife Conservancies as well as the Reserve.

For all guests booking 8 or more nights staying at the Porini Camps between March and November 2017 we provide a FREE NIGHT including breakfast in Nairobi plus a free arrival transfer from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

For your free night in Nairobi you can choose between a night at the Eka Hotel or the Weston Hotel (on Bed & Breakfast basis), or stay at Nairobi Tented Camp in Nairobi National Park on Bed & Breakfast basis (excluding park entry fee). For stays at Nairobi Tented Camp our special discounted Half Board safari package at $105 can be added as a pre-booked option to include a free game drive and dinner and free drinks.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Pick up from Nairobi international airport and transfer to Nairobi National Park. Spend 1 night at Nairobi Tented Camp fully inclusive of meals, afternoon game drive, sundowner, park fees and drinks (beer, wine, gin & tonics, soft drinks and bottled water). This unique camp is the only camp within the Nairobi National Park which is home to a broad range of wildlife. It is one of the few parks in East Africa where you have an excellent chance of sighting the rare black rhinoceros.

Day 2

After breakfast we depart from Nairobi National Park and transfer to the nearby Wilson Airport for the 50 minute morning flight at 10 a.m to the Mara. You’ll be met at the Naboisho Ol Seki airstrip by Porini Mara staff and transferred to Porini Mara Camp. Settle into your tent and enjoy lunch prepared by the camp chef. Afternoon game drive in the Ol Kinyei Conservancy, followed by a sundowner at a scenic spot. Return to camp for a shower, dinner and overnight.

Day 3

Awake to the natural sounds of the Mara’s birdlife. Leave camp soon after dawn to explore the Ol Kinyei Conservancy on the lookout for elephants, buffalo, giraffe, plains game and the big cats. You will have a bush breakfast out in the wilds and then return to camp for lunch. In the afternoon you will have a further game drive in Ol Kinyei and Naboisho Conservancies with a sundowner at a scenic spot followed by a night game drive with spotlights to search for nocturnal animals, including the elusive leopards which are resident in Ol Kinyei, before heading back to camp for dinner.

Day 4

After breakfast leave camp and drive through Ol Kinyei and Naboisho Conservancies, game-viewing as you go, and on to Olare Motorogi Conservancy arriving at Porini Lion Camp for lunch. Afternoon game drive in the exclusive Olare Motorogi Conservancy, away from the minibuses and tourist vehicles seen in the reserve, and with an excellent chance of sighting lions, cheetahs and leopards all of which are found in the conservancy. Sundowner and night game drive. Overnight Porini Lion Camp.

Day 5

A full day spent on a game drive in the famous Maasai Mara Reserve with a picnic lunch in the park and then return to Porini Lion Camp in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Porini Lion Camp.

Day 6

*Optional Balloon Safari and Champagne Breakfast.

Final early morning game drive in the Olare Motorogi Conservancy and then transfer to the airstrip to fly back on the 11am flight to Wilson Airport in Nairobi, arriving at around 12.15h. Or take the option of a further night at Porini Lion Camp with game drives in the Olare Motorogi Conservancy or the Maasai Mara Reserve.
